Nexus (YA)

This was a awesome book and the fact I got to read it the week before Mardi Gras made it that much cooler.  Our friends are back in the last of the Zeroes Trilogy books, and the heat has not let up yet. The action is non stop, and the suspense has not slowed up in the least. We do meet a whole bunch of new Zeroes in New Orleans, as they prepare for Fat Tuesday, and one of the big Mardi Gras day parades.  But our friends are split on whether to help this new bunch or not, and what the new bunch of Zeroes true intentions are and how they fit in with our friends way of thinking.  Only time and reading the book will tell, along with a few really cool side stories you won't want to miss, maybe new series spin offs series???

Granted (MG)

Have you ever wished upon a star, a birthday candle, a coin thrown into a fountain, or a on a wishbone broken?  Did it come true?  Did you follow the rules?  Oh yes my friend there are rules to wish making, first and foremost is you can't tell anyone your wish, but there are others as you will find out later in the book, and granters (fairies that grant wishes) have to know them all, and  Ophelia Delphinium Fidgets, a young fairy granter does know them all and everything there is to know about granting a wish.  You see Ophelia has been waiting about a year for her first assignment, her very first wish granting.  But when it comes not everything quite goes as planned, and granting a wish is a bit harder than just throwing some fairy dust on something and saying some magic words.
This is another awesome book by author John David Anderson about diversity and friendship despite hardship and differences.  I love how he can bring the eclectic of characters together and have it all workout in the end.  Don't get me wrong there are sad and funny parts mixed in but things seem to work there way out even when they look bleak at times, and that is nice.  Sam had to be  my favorite character and wanted to take him home myself from the beginning, but I am glad I didn't, thank you Mr. Anderson from me for Sam.  This was a great book and I hope it answers a lot of wishes, I hope it answers mine.

City of the Dead (ADULT AUDIO)

In this second book of Brian Keene's famed zombie world we find Frankie, Martin and Jim still making their  toward Danny, Jim's son, and hoping he is still alive and not a zombie and the rest of the group held up in a skyscraper in Manhattan, built and owned by eccentric billionaire, but will it hold against these zombies?
This was a fast paced, suspenseful, non stop action book, with wonderful characters.  I had the audio narrated by a very  talented Joe Hempel, who makes you feel as if you are there in the midst of all of the turmoil with these people fighting along side them, helping them.  It is so much fun to listen to it with all the different voices, so if you get a chance to listen to it  you should, but this book was awesome either way.

The Cup: The Project, Book 13 (ADULT AUDIO)

The team is back and due to the death of a Swedish spy they are on the prowl for the holy grail.  But so is ISIS and it is said that if the grail falls into wrong hands it will bring about the end of days, so the race is on.
This might be book thirteen but Mr. Lukeman has not let up yet, this one has just as much action and suspense as the first book, the characters are awesome and believable.  The audio narrated by Jack de Golia is wonderful, and not to be missed, he has a voice for each character and he can draw you into the story like you are one of the team right there with them helping with assignment.  I can't wait to get the next audio these are so good.

Broken Worlds: Book One of the Alorian Wars (ADULT AUDIO)

When Anki, a Luthian Marine, and Brindle, a Greshian Ensign, worlds collide things in their worlds become very confusing from what they have grown up being told.  But can they change things and   will they save their people?
This is a wonderful military science fiction book/audio.  This is a highly entertaining book, I had the audio version with voice actor Rebecca Sternberg, who does a awesome job bringing this world alive for the listener and making you feel as though you are there and part of the crew family.  I really enjoyed this as a audio and can not wait for more.

Environmentally Friendly (ADULT)

This a novella so there is only so much I can say without giving it away, but I will say it is action packed and was so much fun to read.  It is worth the time and hopefully the author will use this short as a stepping stone for a full length book later so there can be more detail and more fill in the blanks.  But even with that said you will still like this if you like this kind of suspenseful military/police action type book.

Zenith (YA)

Androma, riding her awesome spaceship around doing odd jobs and acting like a space pirate all the time hiding from her own people,  until the one job she runs into the one person that should be impossible to run into, because he is dead, she killed him herself, is he a ghost? She will not go back to her people no matter what will she?
This was a action packed, non stop suspense, all round wonderful book.  Even though most of the main characters are girls there is plenty of fighting and blood from the Bloody Baroness to make any guy happy.  This is a great diverse book for all and it had me all the beginning and now I just can not wait for the next to see what happens next.

This is a wonderful diverse book, also very suspenseful and has action as well.  This book is exciting as well as haunting at times.  It is a book you won't want to miss, so don't let it go.  You will  always be  rooting for Corey to help tell Kyra's story.

Supergifted (MG)

Donovan is stuck between a rock and hard place.  He did something pretty cool but can’t tell anyone or he will get into trouble, but his friend, genius nerd, Noah was there and decides he will say he did it so people will stop looking for the superkid that saved head cheerleader Megan’s house.  But when Noah lets all the superkid go to his head what can Donovan to do?
This is a really awesome book on so many different levels about friendship, cliques, and acceptance.  It is a book that is good for all kids in the middle grade age group, as there is a wide range of kids in the book there is bound to be one to pretty much fit anyone reading the book.  This book brings a lot to the table from bullying to the pressures that kids put on themselves to perform at the top grade wise and athletically, and these are just middle scholars (I was not thinking of what college I wanted into in the 7th grade, not seriously at least).  I really enjoyed this book and hope everyone gets the chance to read or listen to it at some point, whether you are a Noah, Donovan, Megan, Hashtag or someone else in the book hopefully you see yourself and can figure out what you might change to be a better friend or to help someone become a better friend.

Potion Master: The Eternity Elixir (MG)

Twelve year old Gordy might be the best elixirist ever when he grows up, but first he needs to save his world from the enemies of B.R.E.W. (Board of Ruling Elixirist Worldwide) or at least hold them off until his Mom gets home.
This was a really good book full of non stop action, lots of suspense, and of course plenty of potion magic.  I am sure there will be many references made between Harry Potter and this book but if you ask me, I don't see it, apples and oranges.  I guess you could make a case for anything but I think this is different and refreshing.  It's eclectic list of characters, including Doll, will make this a hit for boys and girls of a wide age range and especially reluctant readers.  This is a really good book and I can't wait to see what happens next!
